Dental X-rays
Dental X-rays in Casablanca: panoramic and 3D scan
Dental imaging shows what a clinical examination cannot: hidden cavities, infection around a root, bone condition, impacted teeth, root position. The Smiles & Beyond centre has digital panoramic X-rays and an on-site CBCT 3D scanner, so you do not have to go elsewhere and the right treatment can be decided faster.

Which types of dental X-rays?
Intra-oral X-ray: one or a few teeth in detail, to spot a cavity, an abscess or bone level. Panoramic X-ray: an overview of both jaws, wisdom teeth, sinuses and joints. 3D scan (CBCT): three-dimensional images, useful for planning an implant, studying an impacted wisdom tooth, a complex infection or orthodontic treatment.
What is imaging used for in your care?
Detecting cavities between teeth, assessment before a root canal, follow-up of treatment, planning implants and surgery, assessing gums and bone, monitoring growth in children. Imaging complements the clinical examination: it does not replace it and is only done when useful.
Dental X-rays and safety
Modern digital devices use very low radiation doses, much lower than old film. The dentist only prescribes the images needed, with suitable protection. Tell us if you are pregnant or think you may be: the examination will be discussed or postponed if possible.
Who is it for?
- You have pain whose cause is not visible.
- You are preparing for an implant, a wisdom tooth extraction or orthodontic treatment.
- You want a complete assessment of your teeth and bone.

Frequently asked questions
Are dental X-rays dangerous?
Digital doses are very low and images are only prescribed if useful. Always tell the dentist if you are pregnant.
What is the difference between a panoramic X-ray and a 3D scan?
A panoramic X-ray is a flat image of all the teeth. The 3D scan (CBCT) shows the volume of the bone and anatomical structures, useful for implants and complex cases.
Do I need to prepare for a dental X-ray?
No. Only remove jewellery or glasses that get in the way.
Can I get a copy of my X-rays?
You can ask for a copy, for example for another practitioner. Speak to the centre.
